2. Tournaments

2.1 Introduction

You can create a tournament of any type and size. It can be a tournament for singles, doubles or teams. The whole process is fully automated. Starting from registration, through the generation of draws, schedule of matches and even entering results from mobile phones in real-time. So that the organizer has as little work as possible. RankedIn’s goal is to give the opportunity to everyone to use professional solutions for their competition. Follow these simple steps to see how easy it is.

2.2. Create Tournament - Introduction

The easiest way to create a tournament is explained below and it’s divided in different steps for easier management. When creating a tournament the admin is adding the basic tournament details such as name, date, playing time, number of courts and ranking, adding the sponsor logos and creating the classes with the playing time per each class. 2.2.1. Create/Edit Step

In the top bar of the website, click “Create(1)” button and select Tournament(2). Check image 1 below. Image 1 In the shown pop up(check Image 2 below), select Sport(3). 2.2.2 Sponsor Logos

Sponsor Logos: You can access this page from the tournament admin panel, by clicking “2.Logos”. In this page you can add logos by selecting “Add sponsor logo” (this is an optional feature). After adding the logos, they will appear on your tournament page and in the poster for your tournament, generated by Rankedin. You can add up to 6 logos.

2.2.3 Classes

The classes of your tournament are the various divisions that people will compete in within the tournament. Classes are typically separated by gender, age group, match type, ability, or a combination of these factors. Many tournaments include variations of different classes in the same sport like: singles, doubles and teams. 2.3 Add players to the Tournament

There are 2 ways of adding players to the tournament: - Players join by themselves - Admin adds players manually There are 2 types of players, Real players (players that have an account in Rankedin) and Fake players (players without account in Rankedin. Fake players have limited features (see Image below)

2.4.1. Join Singles Class

Players can search a tournament name in the search bar, you can find the tournament in the calendar page or the player can access the tournament directly from a shared link. Only players that already have an account in RankedIn can join. They simply need to click the “Join” button and they will be signed up for the tournament.

2.4.2. Join Doubles Class

Players can search for a tournament name in the search bar, you can find the tournament in the calendar page or the player can access the tournament directly from a shared link. Players need to click the “Join” button (1), then from the pop-up that appears, they need to choose if they have a partner for double or not . 2.4.3. Join Teams class

You can search for a tournament name in the search bar, you can find the tournament on the calendar page or you can access the tournament directly from a shared link. To join a team class, click the “Join” button (1) and select the team you want to join (2).

2.4.4. Add Teams in Team class

Every player can add a team and later other players can join that team. To add a team, go to the tournament page. You can search for a tournament name in the search bar, you can find the tournament on the calendar page or you can access the tournament directly from a shared link. 2.5 Search and Add existing players

In the tournament admin panel, go step 4.Players (1), select class (2) and click “Add players (3)” (See Image below). In the search bar, type in the name of the player you want to add or invite. Click the “Add/invite” button (1) and then click “Confirm” (2). 2.6 Create a Fake Player

In the admin panel for tournaments, go to step 4.Players (1), select class (2) and click the “Add players” button (3) (Check Image below). 2.7 Event Page

On the event page, the visitors will be able to see all the details for your tournament. This is the page that players will visit to register for the competition before it starts and also visit to check the development of the tournament afterwards. Everything from the playing times, classes & schedule to match results, final standings & points awarded after the tournament will be available on this page.

2.8 Tournament Link - Share and advertise your Tournament

Share your Tournament on social media, just select the share button to post your event directly to Facebook, Twitter etc. Alternatively, copy the link from the tournament page and post it wherever your players can see it and join. You can find the share button right below the sponsor logos on your tournament page. Spread the word about your Tournament to attract more players.

2.9 Connect Tournament with Ranking (Organization/Club)

In order to connect your tournament with a ranking, the ranking needs to be created previously in RankedIn. If you still haven’t created a ranking you can check this section “Create Ranking (https://rankedin.ladesk.com/655945-42-Create-Ranking)”

2.9.1. Connect tournament with your ranking

If you have already created your own ranking, all you need to do is go to the “1.Edit” step in the tournament admin panel and add your ranking. 2.9.2. Connect tournament with ranking you don't own

In order to connect the tournament with a ranking you do not own, go to the tournament admin panel, select the “1.Edit” step and add the ranking. 2.10. Close sign in

To access this page, go to the tournament admin panel and select step 5. "Close Signing in”. To close the sign in for an entire tournament, simply click the “Close sign in” bar (1) and confirm the pop-up. To close sign in for a specific class, simply click the button (2) next to the desired class. If you close the sign in for a tournament, players will no longer be able to join it. 2.11 Select Ranking Levels for the classes

Ranking levels are defining the amount of points assigned for each player's final standing position. For example player in position 1 should get “X” points, player in position 2 should get “Y” points. These points are predefined in the ranking levels. Ranking levels must be selected, otherwise you will not be able to generate standings and finish the tournament. 2.14. Seeding

To access this page, go to the tournament admin panel and select step “4.Players”. If a ranking is connected to the tournament, players are ordered automatically by their ranking points, from highest to lowest. By selecting seeding, the players will be seeded according to their ranking points. When generating the draws, players will be seeded and added to the correct positions in the draw. You can also seed players manually by typing their seeding (1, 2, etc) in the field next to their names...

2.15. Draw Types/Generate Draws

To access the draw page, open the tournament admin panel and select step “6.Draws”. Rankedin supports four types of draws and combination of those draws with stages.

2.15.1. Round Robin(Group)

In Round Robin draws, all players play against each other. Below the draw, you will see the standing positions for each player as the results are entered, visible in the “Standing Table” (1) based on the “scoring rules” (2). How to add a Round Robin Draw? 2.15.2. Monrad

A Monrad draw is similar to the Elimination draw format, but in Monrad all players continue to play until they get a final standing. Depending on whether they win or lose, they automatically go to the next position in the draw, meaning each player will get an exact position in the Final Standings (not equal). 2.15.3 Elimination(Knockout)

Elimination (knockout), or sudden death draw, is a type of draw where the loser of each match is immediately eliminated to go further in the draw (and does not play more matches in this tournament). The winner of each match will go further in the draw and play a new match in the next round, until the final match. 2.19. Start Tournament

To start the tournament, go to the tournament Admin Panel and select step “9.Start”. By clicking the “Start Tournament” button, all players will be notified that the tournament has started and they will see the schedule and details for their matches on their profile (opponents, dates, courts and times). 2.20. Enter Results / Reset Results

2.20.3. How players can enter results

To Edit/Reset a result, open the tournament admin panel and select step “8.Matches”. Click the “Enter result” button to access the page from where you can manage match results. In the enter result page, select the correct draw, click on the “3 dots button (1)” for the match you need to edit/reset and then select “Edit/Reset(2)” result.

2.21. Scoreboard

If you use scoreboards, like mobiles, tablets etc to referee the matches, live scores will be updated directly into Rankedin/Tournament Page. By using scoreboards, tournament organizers can easily share live updates of match scores on a Smart TV, Tablets or other smart devices. While matches are being refereed from, for example mobile devices, the match results are updating in real time on the scoreboards shown on the screen. At the same time, you don't need to enter any results after the match ...

2.22 Live video with scores - by SportCam

Matches can be transmitted live through the RankedIn live video tools. If the E-referee tool is used to enter the results during a match, the score will automatically update in real time and be included in the video. 2.23. Finish Tournament

When all results are entered, admins need to generate standings and finish the tournament. 2.24. Edit Final Standing

After standings are generated, admin can edit and change standings and/or points for the players if needed. In order to edit the standings, they need to be generated first. 2.25. Contact all participants

To contact all participants in the tournament, open the tournament admin panel, click the “CogWheel” button (1) and select “Send email to all participants” (2). Here you can fill in the Subject and the text and then click “Send”.

2.26. Move Players between Classes

Admins can move players from one class to another. This can be done only before generating the draws. To do this, go to the tournament admin panel and select step “4.Players”. Click the “Move players between classes” button. On this page, select the “Class”(1) you want to move players from, then select the “players” (2) you need to move and then the “Class”(3) you need to move the players to. When finished, click “Confirm”(4).

2.27. Download Players List

To download a list of the participating players in a tournament, open the tournament admin panel and select step 4. "Players”. On this page, click the “Download list of players” button, a csv file with all players will then be downloaded. Federations can easily and effectively control the membership status of their players. 2.29. Collecting Payments

Admin can connect a paypal business account to the tournament and set payment fee for joining the tournament. In this case, players will have to pay upfront for joining the tournament. You will need to set up a Paypal business account and the funds will be transferred directly to your account. 2.30. Add Admins for Tournament

The creator (admin) of the tournament is able to add additional admins for the event. These users will have the same privileges as the creator. To add an admin for the tournament, open tournament admin panel, click the “CogWheel”(1) button and select “Add admins” (2). In the “Add Admins” page, search for the player that you want to be added, click “Add admin” button (1) and then click “Confirm”(2).

2.31 Embed it on your Website

Simply open your Tournament page in Rankedin and you will see the “share” symbol for the functionality just below the sponsor logo. You will also see the next steps to get a great new page with your tournament on your website, with the colors of your organization. 2.32. Team Tournament / Championships

Team Tournament has the same options and features as tournaments for singles and doubles. However, in this case teams can join and play against each other in regular draws. The teams will compete against each other in a form of individual, 1 vs 1 games between players from each respective team.The results of those individual matches will count for the final standings of each team.
